FAQ'S

Will my photos be used on social media?

Yes.  Unless you request before hand that they not be used, Marianne Overton Photography will post images on social media and/or marianneovertonphotography.com for business purposes.

Why do you require a deposit?

So, life happens.  And I totally get that!  For many circumstances, that deposit is refundable.  However, if you change your mind, don't like your outfit, just want to change the day due to bad moods, etc--->the money from that reserved date is lost to me and kind of stinks.  So it's like a little back up plan for scenario's like that.  ;)

How do I book a session?

Start by calling, texting, or using my "contact" form.  We will decide on a date together and choose a location.  After the booking is completed you will receive an email from me about 1 week prior to your scheduled shoot confirming your time and location, along with payment information that is due prior to or at the beginning of your scheduled shoot.

How do I pay for a session?

Payment info will be sent to you 1 week prior to your scheduled shoot; this payment is due prior to or at the beginning of your schedule shoot.

I take payment in the form of cash/check, Venmo or pPayPal.

What can I expect during the session?

Children are UNPREDICTABLE... so, it is my job to be ready for anything! A lot of times parents get frustrated because sessions don’t seem to be going perfectly, but those small moments in between all the tantrums and chaos are beautiful. People are often surprised to see that there are so many great pictures to choose from, when all they remember is their wild child. Don’t worry, I shoot like crazy and it’s my job to capture it all! The only job I give parents is to relax & enjoy it! I will do all of the hard work! I will give a lot of direction during the session so you will know exactly what to do. Children match your energy, so if you are having fun and showing them how much you love them, they will show you the same in return. Once in a while there are children that for whatever reason, do not want to be photographed. I might ask to photograph your child or children away from the parents so they will just focus on me and my lame jokes. It usually works! They don’t know me and usually children are on their best behavior for others! This is one way we can work together to make your sessions run smoothly.

HELP.  What should I wear?

I am a mom.  I get how stressful pictures can be!  Try to have your outfits nailed down at least a week before your session; that way you are not stressing about clothes!

Think bold.  Think layers.  Think outside the box!

Little boys are adorable in suspenders, top hats, vests, shorts.

Little ladies are adorable in twirly dresses and bright, large prints.

Try not to be too matchy and allow yourself to mix colors that you wouldn't normally piece together.  It will all come together!

I'm always happy to help, too.   Send me pictures of your ideas and we will brainstorm together!

Colors to AVOID:

Black, red, neon colors, hot pink, busy patterns, tiny polka dots, small stripes

Where should I print my photos?

So, there are a zillion options for you when it comes to printing.  Be picky!  Pay the extra dollar or two per print.  It is worth it.  The quality of print can completely change the entire look of your photos.  I like using PIXIESET, which you are able to use with the gallery I send.  I also love to use MPIX.com, and print on their metallic paper.   I also use White House Custom Color (WHCC), and print all my prints on their embassy texture paper.

Can I create my own photo shoot, package, shot list?  ABSOLUTELY!  You're the customer.  I cater to you!
